UC Davis Undergraduate Physics Exam

20171012-TH: Insight Brief
November 21, 1984 would have been
our third year at UC Davis (Junior). The
previous Winter Quarter (1983) we had Doctor Peek as our physics teacher
(mechanics). We fell short in his class
earning only a B. For Spring Quarter
(Physics 2B) we were gifted with Doctor Letteer. He really got the ball rolling for us and we
earned an A. By the time this exam was
offered we had gained a good deal of confidence about physics. Eventually, we were hired as and on-campus
paid physics tutor. Doctor (Guy)
Letteer’s special interest was in fiber optics.
We have tried to see what has become of him to no avail. At one point he asked us to tutor his
girlfriend (Donna) in biology. Our
calculation below indicates he is a 4.2 Star Professor yet we still feel he
earned an A or 5.0 Stars.
